“I should be able to figure this out myself.

If that thought has crossed your mind, you're in good company. Most clinicians try everything else first: peer groups, another workshop, re-reading the protocol, hoping the next session goes better. And still the case feels stuck, the doubt lingers, and the work feels lonely.

Seeking consultation doesn't mean you're not a good therapist. It means you're taking the work seriously. Technically, consultation is for when you're stuck. In practice, it's how clinicians keep growing, and it's where community lives.

Consultation Offerings

Five ways in. One standard of support.

The Certification Pathway

Your route to EMDRIA Certification, step by step.

Certification can feel like a maze of requirements. It isn't, once someone lays it out. Angelique supports you through steps 2 to 5.

Verified Credentials

Issued by the EMDR International Association

Step 1

Complete EMDR basic training

Finish an EMDRIA approved basic training program. If you haven't yet, this is your starting point, and Angelique's own training program is coming in 2027.

Step 2

Build your EMDR practice

Certification requires at least 50 EMDR sessions with a minimum of 25 clients. Consultation supports you while you build this experience, not just after.

Step 3

Complete 20 consultation hours

You need 20 hours with an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, at least 10 of them individual. Angelique can provide all 20, through individual sessions, groups, or a mix.

Step 4

Complete 12 EMDRIA CE credits

Twelve hours of EMDRIA approved continuing education, typically in advanced topics. Angelique can point you toward current approved options.

Step 5

Apply for certification

Submit your application to EMDRIA with clear documentation of your hours, which Angelique provides, plus letters of recommendation.

Requirements are set by EMDRIA and may evolve. Angelique will confirm the current details with you when you reach out.

Clinical Supervision

One hour, two requirements.

Angelique works as a Clinical Supervisor and meets the criteria set by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario to provide clinical supervision for registration purposes. If you are working toward those requirements as well as your EMDRIA hours, the same consultation can count toward both.

It is the question consultees ask most often, and the answer is yes. Mention it when you reach out and Angelique will document your hours properly for each.

Consultation hours can count toward clinical supervision requirements for registration and EMDRIA certification at the same time.

The Consultant Pathway

Becoming an EMDRIA Approved Consultant.

The credential that lets you consult to other EMDR therapists. Four steps, set by EMDRIA, in the order they happen. Angelique supports you through the consultation-of-consultation hours at the heart of it.

01

Become an EMDRIA Certified Therapist first

You cannot begin accumulating consultation-of-consultation hours until EMDRIA has approved you as an EMDRIA Certified Therapist.

02

Submit the CIT declaration form and select an Approved Consultant

Use EMDRIA's directory to find an eligible consultant. Before starting, discuss the purpose and expectations of consultation and enter into a written consultation agreement.

03

Complete 20 consultation-of-consultation hours and develop consulting experience

During the CIT process, EMDRIA expects you to work with at least five different consultees. At least three must have completed an EMDRIA-approved EMDR Basic Training.

04

Complete the clinical-session requirement and obtain a recommendation

Your Approved Consultant provides the recommendation once you have conducted at least 300 EMDR sessions with a minimum of 75 clients.

Where Angelique Comes In

As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Angelique provides the consultation-of-consultation at the centre of this pathway, step three, and the recommendation letter in step four. Her CIT mentorship covers advanced case consultation and helps you develop your own identity and voice as a consultant.

Talk About the CIT Path
