Frequent Questions

  • Many employers offer benefit plans which provide coverage for counselling services.  Please check with your employer or EAP (Employee Assistance Program) prior to the session to ensure they will cover Master of Social Work therapists because some plans will only provide funding for psychiatrists, psychologists or registered psychotherapists.

    I can currently bill some insurance companies directly on the client’s behalf including WSIB, Blue Cross and NIHB.

    **You are able to claim your therapy sessions on your personal income tax as a medical expense

  • I require 24 hours’ notice when cancelling an appointment. This provides me with an opportunity to provide the session to someone else who may be in need. Missed appointments may require full payment of fees, which will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

    EMDR Intensives: I require 72 hours notice when cancelling EMDR Intensive sessions. If sessions are cancelled with less then 72 hours notice or if there is a “no-show” the deposit provided will be forfeited.

  • I accept major credit cards and e-transfers. Payment can be provided prior to the session or once the session has been completed. Once payment has been received a receipt will be issued via email.

  • Sessions can be provided in-person, via phone, or virtually. Whatever’s convenient.

  • Monday-Friday 9:00-4:00. Evening sessions are by appointment only.

  • I am not available 24/7 and I am unable to respond to crisis situations. If you are experiencing a crisis, having thoughts of harming yourself or others please call 911 or go immediately to the emergency department of your local hospital.
